From making new connections and learning new routines to exploring new ideas and building our classroom communities, our Little Indians have had an incredible first week! ❤️🖤
We are so proud of the way our students and staff have started the year with excitement, kindness, and a commitment to learning. The foundation has been set—and we can’t wait to see how our Little Indians continue to Reach, Rise, and Realize their full potential! 🌟

Today, our Pre-K teachers are wrapping up their Family Connection meetings, while our Kindergarten students complete their final day of Staggered Start.
We are excited to officially welcome everyone tomorrow and can’t wait to see the BIG things our Little Indians will do this year! 🌟

We were planning to Chalk the Walk on Sunday to welcome our Little Indians back to campus, but Mother Nature has other plans! ☔
Due to anticipated inclement weather, we’re bringing the fun indoors — but we’ll have just as much school spirit! Join our PTA as we create posters and signs filled with encouragement and VBE pride to welcome our students back on Monday.

⏰Two convenient times - choose between 12:30-1:30 or 4:30-6:30.
✅ Complete your parent acknowledgement forms to see your child’s schedule and skip the line!
💻If your child was issued a SDIRC laptop / charger - please bring it to orientation.
👚New VBE spirit shirts will be on sale using electronic payment. Children’s - $15; Adult - $20.
🤝 PTA will be hosting a uniform swap - bring clean, shirts and shorts to swap sizes with other families.

Summertime and the LEARNING is easy!
Our Moonshot Academy students spent the day exploring and discovering through exciting field experiences, including seining, a scavenger hunt, water quality testing, and creating beautiful plankton-inspired art.
These engaging activities allowed students to connect with nature, practice scientific inquiry, and deepen their understanding of our local ecosystems.
Learning doesn’t stop when school is out—it just gets even more adventurous! A special thanks to the generosity of The Learning Alliance for sponsoring this incredible program that brings together the Science of Reading & authentic learning in our local community! #MyVBE #vbevibe
Summer learning is in full swing across South County! ☀️📚
From Gifted WOW to Extended School Year, Moonshot Academy, 3rd Grade Reading Camp, and Summer Pre-K, we are proud to be serving more than 550 SDIRC students this summer as learning continues beyond the school year.
At VBE and across our community, we know that learning never stops! 💫
If your child is not enrolled in a summer learning camp, families can still help keep learning strong at home by:
