🍁 Falling in Love with Learning 🍁 Our littlest learners are embracing the season with plenty of fall fun! From designing creative pumpkins and engaging in pretend play to counting pumpkins and practicing early writing skills, every activity is an opportunity to learn and grow! At VBE, we know that play is powerful learning! Through hands-on experiences, our Pre-K students are building foundational skills, developing oral language, strengthening friendships and discovering the joy of learning. #vbevibe #MyVBE

Calling all Future Leaders! Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be principal for a day? Now is your chance! We are excited to announce our Student Principal for a Day contest! We are inviting all of our #MyVBE students to put on their leadership hats and respond in writing or through pictures to the following prompt: If you were principal for a day, what would you do to make VBE an even better place to learn, lead, and grow? One outstanding student will have the opportunity to step into Ms. Van Brimmer's shoes and serve as our Student Principal & Lead Learner on Friday, November 20th! Writing submissions are due Thursday, November 5th.

🎃 Pumpkin Spice Week at VBE 🎃 Our Specials team is celebrating the spirit of the season with fall themed activities this week! This is the first of our "Special Specials" weeks. These weeks happen three times throughout the year and are designed to create anchor memories for our students. During Pumpkin Spice week students have the opportunity to listen to fall-themed stories in the library, play pass the pumpkin, create literacy lanterns and make fall rhythm patterns. #VBEvibe #MyVBE

Through engaging stories, imaginative pretend play, meaningful conversations, and even a special visit from our very own Deputy Larry, our littlest learners discovered the important roles people play in keeping our community safe, healthy, and strong! 🚓❤️ While these experiences are filled with fun, they are also filled with purposeful learning! From exploring art to learning about the natural world, our Little Indians are gaining experience beyond our classrooms! Our kindergarten students visited the Vero Beach Museum of Art to explore their five senses, while our 5th grade Audubon Advocates learned about fire management and its role in caring for natural habitats. We are grateful for community partners who help our students connect classroom learning to the world around them. Curiosity grows when learning extends beyond our school walls! ❤️🖤 #MyVBE

Learning came to life in our own backyard today! Students in Mr. Creary and Ms. Nigito's classes visited the Environmental Learning Center to explore our local waterways and habitats, connecting classroom learning to the natural world around them. We’re thankful Mother Nature cooperated so our curious #MyVBE explorers could enjoy a day of discovery! 📚✨ From eager listeners to proud authors and illustrators—our primary students are bringing learning to life! Our kindergarten friends enjoyed a special read-aloud with Moonshot, our pal from The Learning Alliance! Meanwhile, our second graders became authors and illustrators of their own books, capturing their learning about ancient civilizations.
