Summertime and the LEARNING is easy! Our Moonshot Academy students spent the day exploring and discovering through exciting field experiences, including seining, a scavenger hunt, water quality testing, and creating beautiful plankton-inspired art. These engaging activities allowed students to connect with nature, practice scientific inquiry, and deepen their understanding of our local ecosystems. Learning doesn’t stop when school is out—it just gets even more adventurous! Congratulations to three outstanding leaders from the School District of Indian River County, Osceola Magnet School Assistant Principal Juliette Carroll, Vero Beach Elementary Principal Sarah Van Brimmer, and Vero Beach High School Principal Rachel Serra Finnegan, on successfully completing the Florida Department of Education's 2025-26 Chancellor's Leadership Academy (CLA).

The Chancellor's Leadership Academy is a prestigious professional learning opportunity designed to strengthen transformational leadership and support continuous improvement across Florida's schools. Through this rigorous program, participants deepen their understanding of Florida's academic standards, strengthen their ability to support high-quality instruction, enhance skills in teacher coaching and feedback, and develop expertise in monitoring instructional practices that drive student achievement.

The academy also fosters a statewide network of highly skilled educational leaders committed to implementing data-driven systems that improve instruction and student outcomes for all students.

We are proud of Ms. Carroll, Ms. Van Brimmer, and Ms. Serra Finnegan for their dedication to professional growth and their commitment to excellence in education. Their leadership will continue to make a positive impact on our schools, staff, and students.

📣 Summer Chromebook Reminder for Families 💻☀️

All current 2nd through 5th grade students will be taking their school-issued laptops and chargers home this summer to continue learning and accessing educational resources. Students are expected to return with their devices at the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

Please take a moment to review the attached Chromebook Care Expectations, including important information about:
✅ Safe storage and charging
✅ Caring for the Chromebook and charger
✅ Preventing damage or loss
✅ Possible fees for lost or damaged devices

🎉 Tribe PRIDE Pep Rally 🎉 Today was all about Tribe Pride and the VBE VIBE 🔥 Our #MyVBE Little Indians were inspired by some incredible guests from Vero Beach High School, including a very special visit from a former VBE teacher now VBHS Principal Rachel Serra-Finnegan — reminding us that our students don’t just grow up… they grow into leaders. We also had the opportunity to hear about what it takes to reach excellence from VBHS quarterback Champ Monds, who helped lead his team all the way to the state championship and signed with Notre Dame today as the #1 quarterback in the nation! What a powerful example of hard work, discipline, and leadership in action! As we head into our final PM #3 assessments, our message is clear: This is our time to shine. Our students are ready to show their growth & achieve proficiency in Reading, Math & Science. Because at VBE… WE GIVE IT ALL WE GOT! #vbevibe

Today’s Grad Walks were a powerful reminder of what it means to be #ConnectedByCommunity ❤️ We welcomed back our former Little Indians as they walked our halls one more time—this time as graduating seniors. Our students and staff lined the hallways, cheering them on and celebrating all they’ve accomplished. It was a full-circle moment that truly captured the heart of our school. Today, we honored the lasting impact of our educators, celebrated the achievements of our students, and recognized the important partnerships with our families that make it all possible.
