Good evening, VBE Tribe!

This is your principal and Lead Learner Ms. Van Brimmer with your weekly edition of Tribal Talk. As we head into a busy and exciting week, here are a few important reminders:

📊 iReady Testing Begins This Week

Families can support students by:

Ensuring your child gets a good night’s rest
Making sure your child arrives to school on time
Talking with your child about their academic goals and encouraging them to do their very best.

🔬 STEAM Week

This week, our Special Area team will be launching STEAM Week! All K–4 classes will rotate through STEAM activities on a daily basis next week. The week will culminate with a Field Day on Friday for Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 4th grade students. During art and music classes this week, we are excited to welcome community partners from Coastal Connections and the Audubon Society, who will be presenting integrated science lessons to our students.

📚 Book Fair

Our Book Fair is also happening this week!

Your child’s Library/Media rotation will serve as their class’s Book Fair time.
Students should have already received a flyer with their assigned day highlighted.

Extended Book Fair Hours:

Monday: 8:00–4:30
Tuesday: 8:00–3:00
Wednesday: 8:00–4:30
Thursday: 8:00–5:30

🌟 Special Events

Wednesday: Our Pre-K students will be participating in the Special Olympics
Friday: Second grade families are invited to join us for a Showcase of Student Learning from 1:00–2:00 PM, highlighting student work from our recent unit on insects

During Celebrate Public School Week, our 3rd Grade Showcase invited families inside the classroom to experience learning up close and personal - right alongside their child. Students proudly shared their knowledge, reading fluency, written summaries and vocabulary as a culminating experience of a unit rooted in curiosity, growth, and confidence. This is our VIBE. ❤️🚀

📚🎃 VBE Families – Storybook Parade Information! 🎃📚

We can’t wait to celebrate with you tomorrow during our annual Storybook Parade! Here’s what you need to know:

🚗 Parking: All parents and families should park in the front parking lot between 9:00–9:15 a.m.
🚶‍♀️ Arrival: Follow the signs and walk to the gates to sign in.
🌳 Viewing Area: After signing in, please head to the grassy field and line up around the circle to enjoy the parade.
🎉 Parade Route: Once all students have exited their classrooms, the parent parade will begin.
👧🧒 After the Parade: Students will return to their classrooms.
🚫 Reminder: For safety, visitors may not walk to classrooms after the parade.
