Here are a few reminders to help you make the most of your time:

⏰Two convenient times - choose between 12:30-1:30 or 4:30-6:30.
✅ Complete your parent acknowledgement forms to see your child’s schedule and skip the line!
💻If your child was issued a SDIRC laptop / charger - please bring it to orientation.
👚New VBE spirit shirts will be on sale using electronic payment. Children’s - $15; Adult - $20.
🤝 PTA will be hosting a uniform swap - bring clean, shirts and shorts to swap sizes with other families.

Summertime and the LEARNING is easy! Our Moonshot Academy students spent the day exploring and discovering through exciting field experiences, including seining, a scavenger hunt, water quality testing, and creating beautiful plankton-inspired art. These engaging activities allowed students to connect with nature, practice scientific inquiry, and deepen their understanding of our local ecosystems. Learning doesn’t stop when school is out—it just gets even more adventurous! Summer learning is in full swing across South County! ☀️📚 From Gifted WOW to Extended School Year, Moonshot Academy, 3rd Grade Reading Camp, and Summer Pre-K, we are proud to be serving more than 550 SDIRC students this summer as learning continues beyond the school year. Congratulations to three outstanding leaders from the School District of Indian River County, Osceola Magnet School Assistant Principal Juliette Carroll, Vero Beach Elementary Principal Sarah Van Brimmer, and Vero Beach High School Principal Rachel Serra Finnegan, on successfully completing the Florida Department of Education's 2025-26 Chancellor's Leadership Academy (CLA).

The Chancellor's Leadership Academy is a prestigious professional learning opportunity designed to strengthen transformational leadership and support continuous improvement across Florida's schools. Through this rigorous program, participants deepen their understanding of Florida's academic standards, strengthen their ability to support high-quality instruction, enhance skills in teacher coaching and feedback, and develop expertise in monitoring instructional practices that drive student achievement.

The academy also fosters a statewide network of highly skilled educational leaders committed to implementing data-driven systems that improve instruction and student outcomes for all students.

We are proud of Ms. Carroll, Ms. Van Brimmer, and Ms. Serra Finnegan for their dedication to professional growth and their commitment to excellence in education. Their leadership will continue to make a positive impact on our schools, staff, and students.

📣 Summer Chromebook Reminder for Families 💻☀️

All current 2nd through 5th grade students will be taking their school-issued laptops and chargers home this summer to continue learning and accessing educational resources. Students are expected to return with their devices at the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

Please take a moment to review the attached Chromebook Care Expectations, including important information about:
✅ Safe storage and charging
✅ Caring for the Chromebook and charger
✅ Preventing damage or loss
✅ Possible fees for lost or damaged devices
